Buy movies in iTunes?

Sure, why not? It probably won't happen right away but let's think this through logically.
  • Apple creates the iPod. Can carry 1000s of songs with you. Seamlessly integrates it with iTunes Music Store so you can buy songs to take with you.
  • Apple creates iPod Photo, with it's nice color screen you can store images on your iPod as well.
  • They get the color screen in place, only a matter of time before they figure out how to play videos on it, right?
  • iTunes Music Store allows access to music videos and movie trailers. Rumors that this content will be available for purchase at some point.
  • A leaked photo matches a description of what a possible iPod Video would look like.
Now this is just my speculation, but after you can download music videos and play them on your iPod why wouldn't Apple strike a deal with Hollywood the same as it did with record labels? Why not buy a full length motion picture for, oh, say $17.99 right through iTunes? iPods are big enough to hold a couple, too.

I don't want to think of the logistics or file formats or burning them to DVDs to play in your living room, but it's a fantastic distribution model, right? No middle man. No having to go to Best Buy every Wednesday to get the releases for that week. Come on, Apple, do me proud.
